Fix an Old Photo is optional. Nothing happens to a photograph unless you choose that feature, select the photo yourself, and confirm the on-screen notice before it is sent.
When you use it, the photograph you selected is uploaded to Dawn of Night, restored on our own restoration computer, and also sent to OpenAI, which repairs the damage and returns a restored copy. OpenAI receives only the photograph itself and the short instruction describing the repair. It does not receive your name, your account, your email or anything else about you.
The photograph you uploaded is deleted from our server once the restored copy has been produced. The restored copy is kept in your account so you can look at it, save it or share it, and it is removed when you delete it or when you ask us to delete your account.
The restored picture is produced by AI. It may not be an exact reproduction of the original, and damaged or missing detail may not be fully recoverable. Photographs are never used to train any AI model, are never sold, and are never shown to anyone else.

Accounts found violating minimum age requirements may be removed.
