2015-05-25 - ANP - Part II - Beehive Mountain and Great Head
My friend Reece and I rode to Schooner Head and then to the Great Head Parking Lot.
From there we hiked up The Beehive, a short but steep, scary climb with iron ladders and amazing views.
Here is a slideshow of bad-ass Reece photos:
We reached the top of Beehive and then headed down to The Bowl.
Then we hiked south to the top of Gorham Mountain.
We passed by two interesting cairns along the way.
The Gorham Mountain Trail led us down to the water near Monument Cove.
We followed the Ocean Path back to the Sand Beach area, the only natural beach in Acadia National Park.
The last trail we did was Great Head, which traces the perimeter of the Great Head area. The path offered beautiful views of the ocean from various sides of the Great Head area, encompassing multiple islands, floating green moss, and water as far as the eye could see.
We had a great time, and it was only a short ride back to the house.
