2015-04-11 - Ride V - Ride To Nyack
We started in Central Park and rode north towards and over the George Washington Bridge.
Right after the bridge we stopped at a bike shop, our first rest stop. Sam had his bike looked at, but he would continue to have issues with it throughout the day.
On the Jersey side heading north, we encountered some hills we each took at our own pace. The houses were beautiful.
We rode to our rest stop in the Palisades Interstate Park where there was an optional extra hill you could ride down and then back up. Tim, our leader, did it, while the enthusiastic Vinny did half of it.
Nyack was meant to be our lunch stop, but with several of the eateries full of bicyclists already or refusing to serve us, we considered riding to eat at Piermont instead.
Luckily, we asked a guy walking past where he got his pizza and were so directed to a great and yet empty Italian fast food place with deliciously large servings.
Sam was having bike issues, so we stopped at a second bike shop to have his ride looked it. It turned out he had a bent hanger, so he replaced it and bought an extra too.
On the way back, Tim decided to have an early end-of-day chat before letting everyone go their own way. Chintan and I rode back to Jersey City while the others headed over the bridge back into Manhattan.
It was a beautiful ride.
